Homemade Granola – Sugar Free
Do you know what’s better than a bag of store-bought ‘healthy, organic’ granola? Homemade granola. Why? Because the price is low and heartiness is high.
This recipe contains no added sugar, no preservatives, and no additives – natural, wholesome, and clean ingredients ONLY. I love adding it on top of greek yogurt, chia pudding, and oatmeal. Try out the recipe and see how amazing it’ll make you feel.
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cup of oats
- 1/4 almond slices
- 1/4 unsweetened coconut shreds
- 1/4 water
- 6 pitted dates
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375F
- Add the oats, almond slices, and coconut shreds into a medium-sized bowl. mix well.
- Combine the dates and water into a blender, and blend until it reaches a nice sticky watery consistency. This will act as the bond for the granola.
- Pour the date bond into the medium-sized bowl, and mix all the ingredients together until it turns into a thick moldable mixture.
- Line/oil an 8×8 baking sheet and pour the granola mixture. Using a spoon, spread the granola mixture evenly around the pan (this will ensure the granola cook evenly).
- Pop the pan into the oven and bake it for 15 minutes.
- Take the pan out and break up the now-half-baked granola mixture – move the inner pieces to the outside, and outer pieces to the inside.
- Put it back in the oven and bake for another 10 minutes (keep an eye on the granola, the granola can easily burn at this step if not careful).
- When the granola looks crispy and golden, take them out of the oven and let them cool.
- Once cooled, pack the granola in an air-tight jar and it is ready to be enjoyed.
